Tokyo Vol. 2

By Maha Alavi

Every month, we'll discuss a few of our most cherished spots in Tokyo, Japan. This month we're doing a bonus article to celebrate launching our new website. This is Tokyo Vol. 2!

  1. COFFEE + TOAST
This time we're going to Yoyogi Koen / Park area. Just simply one of my most favourite places to spend time in Tokyo. Start your day with a coffee and Norweigan brown cheese toast at Fuglen Tokyo. A Norweigan coffee chain that has many nice locations across Tokyo, and now even Seoul. This location is pretty famous so you might encounter a queue if you arrive in the afternoon, I recommend going first thing in the morning for a more peaceful vibe.

  2. SHOP
From Fuglen, walk a few steps over to Lost and Found, which has a ton of homey bits and bobs to peruse. After that, head on over to Esmeralda Service Department for some good fashion. Carrying local and international brands such as Ernie Palo, Camisas Manolo, Azur, etc., as well as a large vintage section to browse, the selection is sure to please. There's also a lovely little bookshop called Hi Bridge Books a 10 minute walk away.

  3. STROLL
Yoyogi koen or park is one of the biggest parks in the city. From the shop, walk back towards the park, grab a coffee and snack on the way from Verve or Nephew, two lovely cafes I visit almost everytime I'm in the area. From Nephew, the carrot cake is a must-eat! You can walk through the park to Meiji Jingu shrine, a not-to-miss spot for your visit.
